How much do you charge for a skip?
The cost of a skip depends on what size of skip you want to hire. Please use our “Get an instant quote” on the homepage to get a cost or give us a call on 0808 2 626262. Just tell us what you'll be using the skip for and our staff can provide you with a quote for a skip that best meets your needs.
What do your skip hire prices include?
Our standard skip hire service includes delivery, collection and recycling all waste at our licensed facilities.
What size of skip do I need?
At TG Skip Hire, we can offer a full range of skips to hire from 4 to 40 cubic yards. Some are great for a bit of DIY, or removing rubble and junk from the garden and other larger skips are more suitable for commercial uses.

How high can I fill the skip?
Skips can be filled level to the top. Please note that unsafe or overloaded skips will be subject to an additional charge.
Will the skip damage my drive?
We will take every care to prevent damage to your driveway or property by using stabilising equipment where necessary. Please be aware that once we leave your property you indemnify us of any damage that occurs whilst on your property. In order for the skips to be transported safely on pickup, the skips must be level loaded. If you need advice on this, please give us a call on 0808 2 626262.
How long can I keep the skip for?
The usual duration is up to 14 days, however if you do envisage needing the skip for longer, then please state this when you book.
Do I need a skip permit from the local authority when hiring a skip?
Only if you want the skip placed on the road, pavement or on public property. Local authorities charge a fee for the permit, which varies depending on your local authority. Please contact our sales team on 0808 2 626262 they will arrange your permit when you place your skip order.
How long will it take to get a skip delivered?
We can usually deliver your skip within 24hrs from receiving the order but we guarantee to deliver your skip within a maximum of 72 hours.
What can I put in my skip?
Skips are for general waste, inert waste (like sand, drywall and concrete), wood, metal and builders waste.
What am I not allowed to put in the skip?
We will not accept fridges or freezers, TV’s or computer monitors, electrical items, carpet, vinyl, mattresses or tyres or hazardous waste which includes paints, solvents, liquids, batteries, asbestos, florescent tubing, oil or oil containers and plasterboard. If you're unsure that your waste is suitable, give us a call.
Due to weight restrictions, heavy waste cannot be placed in the larger skips (12 yards and over).
Do you recycle my waste?
The TG Group has invested £1.5m in a state of the art Material recycling Facility (MRF) as part of its continuing policy of increasing the amount of recycling of incoming waste at our Wood Lane facility. For every container of waste we process, a vast majority of its contents are recycled. Wood, bricks, metal, paper, cardboard, ferrous metals and much more are all recycled.
What if I’m not finished with the skip by pick up day?
If you have not finished with the skip on the agreed pick-up day, you should call us as early as possible.
What are my options if I cannot have the skip outside?
We are able to offer a wait and load service where the driver will wait for half an hour. If you would like to discuss this, please give us a call on 0808 2 626262.
I need a skip on my drive, how wide is your lorry?
Your drive needs to be 2.4 metres wide for a normal truck with a builders skip (standard size).
When and how do I pay?
All skip hire orders are paid for at the time of ordering. You can pay online when you place your booking, by cash on delivery, or our friendly sales staff will take your payment details over the phone. We accept payment by all major credit cards.
Do I need a road permit?
Permits are required by all local councils for skips that need to be placed on a public highway or road. All permits will be arranged by TG Skip Hire. Prices may vary between different councils. Some councils take up to four working days to grant a skip permit, so please take that into consideration when ordering a skip to be placed on the road.
